This report on November’s progress and my goals for December is very late so apologies for that if you were waiting with bated breath.
Let’s take a look at my goals for November and see if I met them or not.
- Go to the gym eight times
This one sounded easy but I lost a bit of motivation during the month and although it started off well I struggled to make up the days. But I did and this is one goal I can tick off the list!
- Do 10 home workouts on my exercise bike
Unfortunately I wasn’t so good with this one. I got close to 10 but didn’t make it. I was planning to do this home cardio before bed by most nights I was too tired and just went to bed instead. Lazy…
- Work on my one handed push ups
This got off to a good start and my out stretched arm push ups got better. Still no closer to doing a one handed push up but it is a great way to make this bodyweight exercise more intense.
- Loose 1kg of body weight
I started the month at 88kg an ended it at 88kg. Despite my best efforts no weight was lost. Perhaps I lost some fat and gained some muscles? Probably not.
- Eat zero Magnum ice creams
Passed with flying colours! No Magnums or ice creams were eaten and I managed to street clear of chocolate for the most part.
Didn’t get around to this goal. I’m going to try and covert it to .mobi format so I can read it on my Kindle. Not sure if it will work but worth a try. I hate reading on my computer so Kindle format should see me get right stuck into the Lean Ape book.
Overall not bad but they were pretty easy goals, but it was a gentle start.
My Goals for December 2012
I’m going to scrap the weight loss goal and change it to reducing the size of my belly. If the impossible does happen and I lose fat and gain muscle, the size of my gut will be a better indicator. I’m going to try and keep off the ice creams again but as I’m going to the beach for a week this might be tricky! Plus its Christmas and all the food that goes with that.
I’ve got a new gym routine too so will be aiming to hit up the gym three times a week (Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday) which equals 14 gym sessions in December.
My home cardio workout has been changed to lunch times as I’ve got more energy so hopefully I will stick to this better. I want to do these home cardio sessions four times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). This equals 17 sessions in December.
I also want to do a few HIIT cardio sessions in the week. Maybe twice a week in the evenings. This equals eight HIIT sessions in December. This means I will be training twice a day on some days but my training at home, this isn’t as extreme or difficult as its sounds.
During December it is of course Christmas so I will have to be careful not go on too many junk food benders! I don’t really drink much booze any more so hopefully won’t overdo it too much on that front. I will also be on holiday for five days but the hotel has a gym so I can get some workouts in there. Well that is the plan anyway… Resistance bands are a great way to train on holiday if your hotel doesn’t have a gym.
So here are my goals for December 2012:
- Do weights at the gym 14 times
- Do 17 home cardio sessions
- Do eight HIIT cardio workouts
- Drop my belly size from 93 cm to 92 cm
Next month I will be setting some long term goals for 2013. What are your goals for next year?
